About the Event
Knight Foundry in Sutter Creek is America’s last water-powered foundry and machine shop and a premier relic of Mother Lode gold mining history. Join us as we explore the historic Knight Foundry in action as their docent’s fire up the historic forges, bring antique machinery to life and demonstrate the fascinating art of sand casting. With our expert docents on hand, we'll tour at our own pace, discovering stories and skills from a bygone era.
Afterwards we will enjoy lunch together, followed by the CCRC Match Game. The Match Game involves searching for items and matching them to the correct merchant. A prize will be awarded to the winner. Extra credit opportunities will be available to break any tie scores. This has proven to be a fun and unpredictable event in the past.
